3D Facial Reconstruction · Combat Injury Sequelae
A patient from Gyumri sustained a mine-blast shrapnel injury to the right side of his face during the 44-day war in 2020. After orbital reconstruction and several operations, pain and restricted mouth opening persisted, while the previous implant posed a risk of inflammation. On February 27, 2023, Norayr Mikayelyan performed a nine-hour operation: the old implant was replaced with three titanium implants, restoring the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus, the orbit, and the cheekbone. After surgery, the pain resolved, while speech and function improved significantly.
